EBG estates contribute significantly to their local economies, are major visitor destinations and large local employers. Collectively and in partnerships with local authorities and public bodies members make a real contribution to the quality and public enjoyment of the UK’s cities, towns and countryside. Crucially, business decisions are based on a long-term view.

Members play an essential and increasingly important role in urban and rural conservation as well as safeguarding some of the nation’s most important works of art and heritage assets. They are major contributors to government's social policies as providers of land and housing and by undertaking landscape-scale regeneration and conservation projects. The Group's members have a particular interest in supporting the provision of new homes and businesses through the re-use of brownfield sites and new developments.
